Carolina Panthers Sign Receiver DJ Chark
An experienced salesperson based in Greenville, South Carolina, Edwin Shoffner has held executive roles with a number of mattress companies and, since 2013, has served as president of Mattress By Appointment. He has offered his turnkey business model and licensing to more than 200 owner-operators in the United States. Beyond his professional pursuits, Edwin Shoffner is a season ticket holder to the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL).
The Panthers have reshaped its roster on offense in the 2023 offseason. The team signed free agent receiver Adam Thielen to a three-year contract on March 19 and, less than a week later, signed receiver DJ Chark to a one-year contract. A 26-year-old native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Chark recorded 502 receiving yards on 30 receptions and scored three touchdowns last season with the Detroit Tigers.
A second-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2018 NFL Draft, Chark spent his first four seasons with the team and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019, when he registered a career-best 1,008 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He had 2,042 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 43 games through four seasons with the Jaguars.
Thielen and Chark join a wide receiver corps that also includes Terrace Marshall Jr., Shi Smith, and Laviska Shenault.
