Greenville Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church Hosts Retreat

With more than three decades of experience in mattress retailing, Edwin Shoffner serves as president of Mattress by Appointment located in Greenville, South Carolina. Active within his community, Edwin Shoffner supports the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church.

Established in 1914, the Greenville ARP Church represents people of a variety of ages and backgrounds who all come together to worship Jesus Christ. ARP is a conservative evangelical Christian denomination, and the church holds traditional worship services as well as Sunday School each week. Congregants can also participate in seasonal annual activities, including Vacation Bible School and the Fellowship Retreat.

Occurring the first weekend of May, the annual Fellowship Retreat invites congregants to the Bonclarken Conference Center in Flat Rock, North Carolina, where ARP churches meet for special events. Those in attendance gather as a church family to concentrate on spiritual enrichment, recreation, and fellowship. The 2017 event took place from May 5–7; speaker Jon McCord led the retreat and had asked attendees to read The Velveteen Rabbit prior to arrival, so the group could discuss what it means to love fully.
