Panther Hires Ex-Colt Coach
A respected presence in the Greenville, South Carolina entrepreneurial community, Edwin Shoffner is a successful business executive who brings over three decades of experience in the retail mattress industry to his role as president of Mattress By Appointment. In his free time, Edwin Shoffner enjoys attending live sporting events and is a season ticket holder for both the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers.
The former coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Frank Reich, has been hired by the Carolina Panthers after the team interviewed nine coaches for head coaching jobs with the team. Mr. Reich played the starting quarterback role in the Carolina Panthers’ debut game in 1995. His contract with the Panthers is a four-year deal.
According to ESPN.com, Mr. Reich is the first offensive-minded head coach to be signed by the Panthers. In 2018, when he served as offensive coordinator for the Eagles, Mr. Reich won a Super Bowl ring. American businessman Jim Irsay, the owner and CEO of the Indianapolis Colts, congratulated Mr. Reich in a tweet on his contract with the Panthers.
