Divers looking to expand their horizons and explore the depths of the seas will often earn their advanced open water diver certification. The certification boosts their confidence by making them self-reliant. This certification offers divers a number of benefits, such as access to shipwrecks and self-sufficient diving.

Many shipwrecks that can be explored are located in around 60 feet of water. With the training provided through the advanced open water diver certification, it is possible to dive deep and swim around (and sometimes even through!) these wrecks.

With the help of the advanced open water diver certification, divers also learn how to be self-sufficient while diving. By introducing students to various scenarios, PADI instructors train them to navigate and survive in stressful situations, preparing them to be self-sufficient should something go wrong while in the water.
